is looking for a Local Outreach Coordinator to provide oversight and direction to Local Outreach programs and projects. Weekly program operation, volunteer onboarding and scheduling are essential components of the position, along with the development of outreach events and community partnerships to support common causes, share information and provide support where possible. This is a full-time position comprising between 30 to 35 per week, depending on program and project needs each week.
Working Relationships

Provides oversight to Common Threads and other Local Outreach Projects, providing support to Family Pantry as required
Oversee the onboarding processes, training, support and scheduling of the volunteers.
Works collaboratively with other ministries, leaders, ministry, operational staff and volunteers, towards our shared mission and vision

Position Status
Full-time- up to 30 hours per week
Responsibilities:
General
In partnership with the Director of Operations, support annual ministry goals and strategies that support the overall mission and vision of VAC.
Serve as part of the Vernon Alliance staff team, participating in meetings, retreats and training
Promote the vision, mission and core values to volunteers
Evaluates programs effectiveness, need and sustainability in the community
Ensure that programs are regularly supported with marketing and advertising, both within the church and in the community to ensure client engagement.
Network with local community partners and non-profit organizations
Ensure onboarding and training of volunteers, engaging in leadership development with those who have the capacity
Attend local community EFAN meetings to share information on resources, investigating opportunities for partnerships
Offer outreach opportunities throughout the year and establish teams for follow-through ensuring that public is aware of our outreach efforts:
o Christmas and Spring - grocery distribution or grocery card distribution
o Develop Outreach opportunities that support ministry engagement
Facilitation of Programs and Projects
Provide direction and support to volunteers
Volunteers are onboarded, scheduled, trained and supported by this position
Establish working relationships with all volunteers - with the focus of developing leaders to take on major program/project tasks
Investigate "add-ons" or ministry enhancements that will point our guests towards full engagement with the church and our discipleship programs. (Example - Life Skills Training Opportunities)
Develop pathways to full discipleship in collaboration with other ministry teams
Ensure that outreach efforts and activities ultimately point people to find life within the church. This will include:
o Incorporating group and private prayer into our programs
o Promoting church ministries (i.e. Weekend Services, Alpha, Home Groups, Hearing God) which develop people spiritually
o Assist in the development of discipleship pathways specific to this vulnerable population
o Creatively connecting our people in our outreach work with the people and broader discipleship ministries of the church
Hourly wage: $24.00
