Reporting to the General Manager, the Loans Officer is responsible for analyzing and assessing business proposals from entrepreneurs and businesses throughout the Western Arctic Region. Duties include assisting clients in preparing loan applications and business proposals, making recommendations to the General Manager regarding loan proposals, monitoring loan investments, collecting outstanding loans, and providing general information and small business counseling. The Loans Officer also delivers the Self-Employment Option program under our contract with the Government of the Northwest Territories.
Applicants should hold a university degree or college diploma in Business or Commerce, supplemented by at least three years of experience in small business lending or credit granting. Applicants must be computer literate, comfortable with Microsoft Office, possess strong interpersonal communication skills, have a solid understanding of small business management, and be willing to travel. Lending experience and knowledge of TEA would be assets, but are not requirements.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. An annual Northern Living Allowance of $ 14,706.00 is in addition to the salary.
