FarmCash is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented
Loan Officer
to support our agricultural producers through every step of the lending process. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys working with people, has a strong eye for detail, and takes pride in delivering excellent service in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: full-time permanent, 40 hours per week, onsite at the Alberta Grains office, with a planned start date of January 5, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Producer Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with agricultural producers.
Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan application process.
Represent FarmCash at tradeshows and industry events to promote the program and engage with stakeholders.
Loan Application Processing
Collect and review financial documentation, including tax returns, business financials, and credit reports.
Assess loan applications for accuracy, completeness, and feasibility.
Ensure loan agreements comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Risk Assessment
Conduct credit analysis using the 5 Cs of credit.
Evaluate collateral and other risk factors to support sound lending decisions.
Regulatory Compliance
Stay current with federal and industry regulations related to agricultural lending.
Ensure all documentation and processes meet compliance standards.
Documentation & Communication
Maintain accurate and organized loan files.
Clearly communicate loan decisions and provide rationale for approvals or denials.
Explain loan terms and conditions to producers in a clear and professional manner.
Relationship & Portfolio Management
Foster long-term relationships to encourage repeat business.
Monitor loan performance and assist with issue resolution as needed.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless lending experience.
Market Awareness
Stay informed on market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to provide valuable insights.
Qualifications
Experience in lending, finance, or agriculture is considered an asset.
Post-secondary education in Business Administration with a major in Financial Services is an asset.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Quick learner with adaptability to new systems and processes.
Willingness to travel occasionally for tradeshows and outreach events.
What we offer:
Competitive salary:
$52,000-$58,000 (based on experience)
Vacation:
3 weeks annually (increasing to 4 weeks after 4 years)
Personal days:
6 paid per year
