Job Summary





The Loading Supervisor is responsible for leading the loading team, ensuring safe and efficient truck loading, assisting customers, and guiding shipping staff. This hands-on role requires learning and performing all loading tasks while enforcing company policies, procedures, and safety standards. The position also involves managing employee performance through task assignments, coaching, and disciplinary actions.




Responsabilities




Enforce safety standards and ensure proper use of PPE. Train and support employees on all required tasks and procedures. Oversee loading operations to ensure trucks and customer vehicles are loaded safely and completely. Inspect work areas and equipment daily for safety and compliance. Coordinate priorities with the Logistics Coordinator and other supervisors. Notify the sales team of any product that did not make it on the truck. Handle employee issues (complaints, incidents, investigations) with HR support. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff and document discussions. Maintain accurate paperwork (load manifests, inspections, vacation approvals). Operate material handling equipment and assist with loading/unloading as needed. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the loading area and yard. Monitor and approve vacation schedules to maintain coverage. Liaise with other departments and shifts to align on daily priorities. Assist with yard traffic control and customer vehicle loading when required. Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.

Working Conditions:




Shift Schedule: 3:00 pm to 12:00 am



Qualifications and Requirements:




3-5 years in a leadership role, plus completion of Supervisor Competency training. Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience and successful completion of forklift training (such as the Moffetts, Combi-lift forklifts, and counterbalance forklifts) Strong focus on safety. Ability to work late shifts as required to complete loading. Proven leadership and ability to mentor, motivate, and direct teams to achieve goals. Skilled at fostering positive, lasting working relationships. Ability to set expectations, delegate tasks, and monitor progress effectively. Ability to direct and motivate a team to achieve and exceed their goals. Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations. Strong verbal and written English skills. Ability to manage conflicting demands and meet deadlines. Familiarity with company products is an asset.
