Lm2500 Field Service Engineer

Remote, CA, Canada

Job Description

C2O Americas

seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with strong expertise in aero-derivative gas turbines (

LM2500 DLE

) to support projects in the oil & gas sector.

The project is located in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, United States, at the Plaquemines LNG facility.

Visa Sponsorship is Negotiable

Travel expenses provided to project location.

Key Experience & Skills

Gas Turbine Fundamentals

Deep understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, compressor/turbine maps, fuel systems, burner dynamics, and emissions tradeoffs (NO?, CO, etc.). Hands-on experience in loop calibration, instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, vibration), and sensors typical for LM turbines.

Combustion System & DLE Mapping

Experience with Dry Low Emissions (DLE) or low-emissions burners: staging, purge strategies, flame boundary margins, incipient blowout, CO/NOx mapping. Familiarity with both gas-only and dual-fuel configurations, if applicable.

Control Logic & Tuning

Strong expertise in turbine control systems (fuel metering valves, actuator response, scheduling logic, gain tuning, biasing). Understanding of how mapping boundaries are determined and enforced in control logic (e.g. map surfaces, control schedule transitions, limiters, alarms). Experience in tuning, validation, and verification in real plant conditions or using simulation tools.

Diagnostics & Performance Analysis

Ability to analyze trends, logs, and alarms to detect combustion instability, emissions excursions, or drift. Familiarity with performance modeling and benchmarking tools (e.g. OEM performance packages).

Interfacing with OEM Control Systems

Knowledge of specific turbine control platforms (e.g. Woodward, GE Speedtronic, Micronet, etc.). Proficiency with the vendor's software, HMI/SCADA environment, control logic blocks, and diagnostic tools.

Field Experience

Hands-on experience in commissioning, start-up tuning, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site performance testing, and cold/hot testing.
Ability to work under safety, operational, and mechanical constraints during tuning campaigns.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Control Systems, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering 5+ years experience in gas turbine control or combustion tuning on aero or heavy-duty units Completion of OEM/vendor-specific control & combustion training (LM2500 familiarization, DLE mapping, Micronet control) Evidence of past tuning or performance improvement projects (emissions reduction, stability optimization, map boundary expansion) Demonstrated ability to work in commissioning/start-up environments under operational constraints Per Diem is available
