We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Child Caregiver to provide personalized care and support to a child in our own home. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and the ability to create a nurturing environment for clients, particularly children and individuals with disabilities. This role requires flexibility, patience, and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in your care.
Responsibilities
Supervise and care for the child in employer's residence, including assisting with personal hygiene.
Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs, ensuring dietary restrictions are met.
Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean living environment.
Monitor and document client progress, reporting any changes in behavior or health to family members or healthcare professionals.
Foster a supportive atmosphere by encouraging independence while providing necessary assistance.
Collaborate with family members to develop personalized care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
Plan, prepare and serve meals for the child and may perform other housekeeping duties.
Oversee child's activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by employer.
Tend to the emotional well-being of child and support their social development.
Discipline child according to the methods requested by the parents.
Engage in age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings.
Take child to and from school and appointments
May be required to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding child.
Administer medication and provide other health-related support as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in caregiving or related fields is highly desirable.
Experience working with children is preferred.
Classroom experience or background in early childhood education is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and families.
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Driver's license to drive the child to his sports activities.
Ability to work independently.
Must be able to pass a criminal record check.
Wage & Benefits:
Starts at $20/hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Able to work 7 hours a day from Mondays thru Fridays.
