Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to an elderly couple in their own home and the home of the immediate family. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about helping others, especially seniors, individuals with a mental disability. The caregiver will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for clients by offering personalized care in a respectful and professional manner. Prior experience in child care, assisted living, nursing home care, or dementia care is valued. The position involves residing within the home to enable flexible shift work as required. Room and Board arrangements are negotiable. The role requires working closely with clients to meet their daily needs while promoting independence and well-being.

Duties

Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide patient care and monitor health status, reporting any changes to family members or healthcare professionals Administer medications accurately as prescribed and manage medication schedules Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment Support clients with mobility and transfer assistance, including heavy lifting when necessary Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation Follow care plans diligently and document services provided

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or working with children is preferred Knowledge of dementia care and senior care best practices is desirable Certification or training in caregiving, home health aide or hotel and restaurant services to enable appealing meal preparation for a person who is highly selective about meals while receive priority Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance Gentle and persuasive communication skills and compassionate nature Ability to work independently and follow detailed care instructions Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
