DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate/manage the day-to-day operations of the Cash, Cafe, Grocery departmental activities and operations.
Greet and assist customers in a manner that models exemplary conduct to other staff, including promoting products and services we offer, enhancing loyalty, sales, and profit.
Lead by example to build department commitment to high standards of service.
Encourage a positive team atmosphere that enables the team to meet or exceeds ICS goals and achieve consistently high levels of customer service.
Ensure all customer complaints are addressed and handled professionally, leaving the customer with a positive resolution.
Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to our level of standards, and to set a positive example for your team.
Assist with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
Support store operational activities including product ticketing, shipping, and receiving, product flow, floor change-outs, sales and markdowns, and store up-keep.
Accurately monitor and maintain inventories, the flow of merchandise, and weekly orders
Analyzing and establishing departmental plans and budgets, measuring results, allocating resources, reviewing progress, and making mid-course corrections as required
Supervise the activities of other departmental supervisors.
Provide feedback to store manager on departmental performance.
Administer disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures.
Overseeing payroll and scheduling for Cash, Grocery & Cafe departments
Overseeing weekly deposits
Adhering to all food safety protocols, standard operating procedures, health and safety policies, and other programs and initiatives.
Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred.
Experience
Experience working in a grocery store for at least two years is required.
One to two years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
One to two years of experience managing a budget and finances.
One to two years of experience in creating and implementing operation plan.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbally and written.
Ability to work under pressure while always maintaining a professional image.
Working independently with little direct supervision.
Have a well-balanced concern for both tasks and people.
Ability to delegate duties and responsibilities.
Have a genuine concern for the needs of customers.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required at times to work with challenging customers and/or situations.
Exposed to cold temperatures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Long periods of standing and walking.
Frequent motions include bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
Includes manual and repetitive tasks.
On occasion, you may be required to lift up to 22.5 kg (50 lbs)
