Position Summary


As a Litigation Support Professional, you will be a cornerstone of our legal team, providing comprehensive administrative and procedural support to senior lawyers. Your expertise will be crucial in managing the lifecycle of litigation files, from initiation through to trial. The ideal candidate is highly organized, resourceful, and thrives in a role where precision and the ability to manage multiple deadlines are paramount.

Key Responsibilities



Draft, prepare, and format a wide array of legal documents, including court forms, correspondence, and briefs. Perform detailed proofreading and quality checks on all materials to ensure grammatical accuracy and compliance with court formatting rules. Efficiently manage calendars for attorneys, coordinating hearings, discoveries, mediations, and client meetings. Oversee the service and electronic filing of documents with various courts and tribunals. Maintain a critical dates system to diligently track deadlines, court mandates, and filing requirements. Assist lawyers with all phases of trial preparation, including organizing evidence and preparing trial bundles. Skillfully manage documents using e-filing platforms such as CaseLines and the Ontario Portal. Act as a key liaison, communicating effectively with clients, court personnel, and internal colleagues. Handle administrative tasks including docketing time, processing expense reports, and managing contact databases.

Required Skills & Experience



At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a litigation support, legal assistant, or law clerk role within a law firm or corporate legal department. A diploma in a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program from an accredited institution. Solid understanding of civil litigation procedures and legal terminology, particularly under Ontario's Rules of Civil Procedure. Experience in employment/labour law is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook), practice management software (e.g., GhostPractice), and Adobe Acrobat. Demonstrated experience with electronic court filing and document management systems. Superior organizational skills with an unwavering attention to detail. Ability to prioritize effectively and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. A professional, discreet, and client-focused approach with a strong team ethic. A self-directed working style, with the initiative to work independently and solve problems.

Hours of Work:

9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with occasional flexibility required to address pressing deadlines.
