Position Summary

The Litigation Associate must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. They will be able to take on civil litigation cases and manage the course of a file independently. The candidate will have excellent written and oral skills, draft all form of court documents including pleadings, motions, etc., have thorough knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and is responsible for attendance at court hearings at all levels. They must also have superior research skills and be able to work in a high volume practice at a fast pace.

Key Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day duties related to management of civil litigation cases Manage and organize progression of cases ensuring timelines and deadlines are met. Attend regular meetings with management to report on cases Prepare case strategy independently and/or in collaboration with other lawyers and staff Conduct research related to case management and strategy Communicate effectively with clients at all levels, provide expert counsel and maintain client relationships. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws Assist with special projects and other duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements

Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario 5-7 years previous experience as a Civil Litigator in Ontario Strong educational background Strong organizational and time-management skills Proficiency in [software, tools, or systems, if applicable] Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Assets (Nice to Have)

Experience in Personal Injury, Corporate Commercial law, Real Estate and Family law are assets. Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure, Insurance Act and SABS Bilingual
