Merovitz Potechin LLP is seeking a Litigation Law Clerk to join our growing team.

Summary of position:
The ideal candidate will assist lawyers with a wide variety of litigation matters, including civil and commercial litigation as well as estates litigation.
Work includes, but is not limited to:
Drafting documents
Assembly of motion records, affidavits, other court documents as required
Arranging for service of documents
Court filing
Open and update files and prepare documents in the ACL software
Complete the Litigation checklist for each file
Coordinate Bring Forwards (BFs)
Retainer payment requests
Ensuring retainer agreement is sent and signed

Required Qualifications:
Must have 3-5 years of litigation, legal assistant or law clerk experience
Strong familiarity of Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure
Proficiency with ACL Automated Civil Litigation software
Good verbal and written communication skills
Superior interpersonal skills to interact with employees, lawyers, clients and external agencies
Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
Professional, responsive and positive work attitude
Ability to maintain filing systems and basic databases
Meticulous records maintenance skills.
