Position Overview

The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for managing a litigation file load from issuing to resolution. You will have the opportunity to develop and execute case strategy, conduct discoveries, negotiate settlements, attend mediations, appear before the Superior Court and LAT, and work collaboratively with our team of clerks, law students, and fellow counsel.

Responsibilities

Manage a litigation caseload and advance matters through all stages of the litigation process. Prepare pleadings, motion materials, mediation briefs, and other legal documents. Conduct examinations for discovery, attend case conferences, mediations, LAT case management meetings, and hearings. Provide sound legal advice to clients with empathy, clarity, and confidence. Strategically assess liability, damages, and settlement value of claims. Collaborate with internal team members to ensure timely, high-quality client care. Negotiate settlements and advocate strongly on behalf of clients. Stay updated on relevant laws and legal precedents affecting personal injury litigation.

Qualifications

Licensed and in good standing with the

Law Society of Ontario

.

3+ years of litigation experience

, preferably in personal injury or insurance defence. Experience with

LAT proceedings

, including familiarity with accident benefits disputes. Strong oral and written advocacy skills. Exceptional client communication abilities, with a compassionate and professional approach. Familiarity with

FileVine, PrimaFact & PCLaw

considered an asset. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team. Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing competing deadlines.
