St. Paul Education is hiring a Literacy Program Assistant to work collaboratively with our Literacy Intervention Team, commencing August 27, 2025, to June 24, 2026. This position will involve providing targeted literacy programs, creating resources, and working within the school environment at assigned schools.
Duties of the Literacy Program Assistant may include:
Implementing programs/strategies with specific children and/or groups of children
Documenting and reporting on student progress and response to current programs/strategies
Working collaboratively with other literacy team members
Presenting universal programming in front of a classroom or small group setting
Using screening tools to determine the levels of need of students
Other Duties as assigned by the Literacy Consultant
All duties are under the direction or supervision of the Literacy Consultant or Director of Inclusive Education and Early Learning
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills:
Strong knowledge base in literacy
Collaborative nature
Efficient and comfortable with the use of technology (Google, iPad)
Willingness to learn
Problem-solving abilities
Strong communication skills
A compassionate and resilient personality
Strong organizational skills
Valid driver's license
Knowledge of the Acadience Reading program would be considered an asset
The ability to speak French would be considered an asset
