ABOUT LIQUOR SERVICES
The Liquor Services Division supports progressive developments in the industry while building strong relationships with liquor stakeholders and collecting revenue for the General Revenue Fund. It is responsible for managing the liquor supply chain in Alberta as well as providing Liquor Program Services, External Warehouse Services and Liquor Planning & Reporting Services.

JOB SUMMARY

Are you a strong customer-service oriented professional with an eye for detail and exceptional administrative skills? If so, the Liquor Program Services team has an exciting job opportunity for you!

Reporting to the Senior Liquor Product Administrator, the Liquor Product Specialist works extensively with AGLC registered liquor agencies and Alberta manufacturers and is primarily responsible for the registration of new beverage alcohol products, updating existing product data (including changes to product descriptions, pricing and customs & excise information, etc.) and updating supplier/agency information when necessary. The Liquor Product Specialist also provides user support for the Liquor Agency Portal as well as provides assistance and support for other positions within the Product & Pricing team.

The successful candidate will have administrative experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic and, sometimes politically sensitive, environment. They should be well organized and be able to interpret documents, policies and federal legislation such as Liquor & Cannabis Act and Regulation, and the Liquor Agency Handbook. Strong attention to detail is required as well as experience working with large databases. This position works in a collaborative work environment and the successful candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic and enjoy being a member of a small but mighty team.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma and a minimum of three years of administrative experience
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to retain and reference information
  • Experience working with external stakeholders in interpreting and applying policies, procedures, operating guidelines, and federal legislation
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Experience with the Liquor Agency Handbook, Liquor Agency Handbook, Liquor Warehouse Handbook, Retail Liquor Store Handbook, the Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Act and Regulation is an asset
  • Experience working with JDEdwards, and SharePoint is an asset
  • Knowledge of the beverage alcohol industry in Alberta would be considered a great asset
