Seize the opportunity: take your next step with us and join our team.Liquified Natural Gas OperationsTechnician (Full Time) - Fort Saskatchewan, ABPrimary PurposeThis position is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of an automated Natural Gas Liquification facility located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB.Key AccountabilitiesReporting to the Facility Superintendent, the incumbent will assist with all aspects of the LNG facility operation.

  • The implementation of operational discipline, principles, procedures and practices to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant processes and equipment
  • Operation, monitoring and inspection of equipment and processing conditions
  • Interaction with various electronic, pneumatic and PLC control systems during start-up, analysis and continuous operation of plant processes and equipment
  • Using troubleshooting skills to recognize and resolve process discrepancies and issues
  • Perform certain repairs and provide necessary assistance to maintenance teams during plant shutdowns, equipment modernization, refurbishments, preventive maintenance and with buildings and grounds.
  • The use of process knowledge and skills to improve equipment productivity and reliability
  • Maintain professional communication between contractors, visitors, clients, colleagues and management
  • Perform QA related calibration and testing
  • Safely manage facility contractors (Work Permits, Safety oversight, xe2x80xa6) Performing minor PMxe2x80x99s, repairs and improvements and basic calibrations
  • Manage the maintenance work order system to schedule routine work, ensure equipment inspections are completed, improve equipment reliability, and document activities.
QualificationsRequired QualificationsEducation
  • xc2xb7 Possess a college diploma in a related field (Power Engineering, Instrumentation/Controls preferred), with a minimum of 3 years plant/process experience.
Experience
  • Knowledge of industrial gases processes (especially Natural Gas and Nitrogen) is considered an asset
  • The ideal candidate will have or be enrolled in the 5th or 4th Class Power Engineering Program
  • Have previous experience in a 24/7/365 process operations role
  • Be motivated, autonomous, be able to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Have the ability to read and interpret various drawings such as P&ID and SWD
  • Must have good computer and technical skills in order to be able to supervise a manufacturing process where the control system can be both manual, pneumatic or automated
  • Must have the ability to recognize, understand, analyze and resolve technical issues
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Must have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license
