About the Role




We are seeking a

Linux Network Developer

to contribute to the development of

eLxr

, a Debian-based distribution designed to deliver a comprehensive Edge-to-Core solution for Linux customers.


As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying networking solutions for eLxr. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, QA, and customer-facing teams to ensure software requirements are delivered on time.


Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills are essential, as you will actively contribute to global projects and work with colleagues across different regions.


To be successful in this role, you should have

5+ years of Linux development experience

with a focus on networking.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop and optimize Linux networking software, including kernel modules and user-space applications. Implement support for advanced networking features such as

SR-IOV

,

DPDK

,

XDP

, and

eBPF

. Integrate networking solutions with virtualization platforms like

KVM

,

QEMU

, and

Open

vSwitch

. Collaborate with hardware teams to support

Intel NICs

, offload engines, and PCIe devices. Tune and benchmark networking performance across virtualized and bare-metal environments. Contribute to open-source projects and maintain internal libraries and tools. Debug complex networking issues using tools like tcpdump, perf, ftrace, and gdb. Write clean, maintainable code with thorough documentation and test coverage.

Required Qualifications:



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience in Linux development with a focus on networking. Strong proficiency in

C/C++

(Rust or Go is a plus). Deep understanding of Linux networking internals, including

Netfilter

,

nftables

, and

socket programming

. Experience with

SR-IOV

,

DPDK

, and

Intel NICs

(e.g., i40e, ixgbe). Familiarity with

KVM

,

QEMU

, and

Open

vSwitch

. Solid grasp of virtualization concepts and performance tuning.

Preferred Qualifications:



Experience with

kernel development

or contributions to the Linux kernel. Familiarity with

cloud-native networking

(e.g., CNI plugins, service meshes). Knowledge of

NUMA

,

hugepages

, and other performance optimization techniques. Experience with

CI/CD pipelines

, Git, and automated testing frameworks. Contributions to open-source networking or virtualization projects.
