We are searching for a part time line/prep cook to join The Glenerin Inn Hotel and Spa team based in Mississauga, Ontario. Breakfast and lunch experience preferred We welcome and celebrate Great People.

About the Opportunity
  • Reporting to the Chef you plan and prepare meals according to menus and recipes; prepare special meals to meet appropriate modifications according to established guidelines;
  • Ensure meals are attractive, the correct temperature and portion size, and that service is timely;
  • Reports any recipe shortages, discrepancies or quality issues to the Executive Chef or supervisor in a timely manner
  • Clean and sanitize cooking station daily; maintain the cleanliness of kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers, and others in order to maintain safety and sanitation in the kitchen to meet legislative and organizational standards; responsible for the clear and correct labeling of excess food
  • Check and record food temperatures daily on a rotational basis for mealtimes as per Health Promotion Act;
  • Follows disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines for organics, paper, plastics, cans/bottles, non-recyclable material, etc.
About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
  • A high-school diploma or a GED
  • Current food handlers\' certificate (preferred)
  • At least two years of experience with cooking
  • Ability to read & follow detailed recipes/instructions as required and communicate in an efficient manner in a team-oriented setting
  • Ability to provide a clear criminal record check
  • Previous cooking experience (2 years experience preferred) in a commercial kitchen (banquets and/or restaurant)
