The Restaurant at True Wild Distilling is looking for a Line Cook. This position works directly with the Chef and Sous Chef focusing on a la carte dining and banquets. The restaurant will focus on seasonality and cooking over charcoal. The ideal candidate should have a passion for food and interest in the restaurant industry. Excellent communication skills and a minimum of two years' experience cooking. A Culinary education and/or appropriate level of on-the-job training and similar restaurant experience is preferred. Candidates must be able to perform all basic and intermediate cooking skills. As a candidate you must have schedule flexibility.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping
- Cook food items by grilling, frying, baking, or sauteing as per the recipe specifications
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure that food is cooked in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Assist with food inventory and ordering as needed
Qualifications
Must have active employment authorization to work in Canada
Requires good communication skills.
2 years of previous kitchen experience is preferred.
Culinary education and/or appropriate level of on-the-job training and club, hotel or similar restaurant experience is preferred.
Valid trade certification/Journeyperson papers/Red Seal or equivalent is preferred.
Candidates must be able to perform all basic and intermediate cooking skills.
Able to work multiple stations in the kitchen.
Requires moderate supervision and training.
The position requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, handling, reaching, grasping, lifting 50 lbs., and repetitive motions.
