SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Executive Producer or Studio Operations Manager, the incumbent oversees the management (planning, organization, coordination) of all stages of project production, from development to final delivery. Ensures budgets, production stages and schedules, and rights-management processes are regularly monitored.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Together with producers, participates in the overall project-budgeting process, designs project-management tools, analyzes project scripts to determine production needs, and prepares shooting plans.
  • In collaboration with the producer and other team members, oversees the creation of the timetable for projects and ensures it is followed.
  • Plans and coordinates all activities, from the development stage to final delivery, in close collaboration with other members of the production team.
  • As required, participates in the studio's regular operations management and operational planning for all activities and resources.
  • Monitors rights management, in collaboration with the administrator and the producers.
  • Manages activities that have been set up in accordance with agreements with Technical Services, in collaboration with the technical coordinator, technicians from the various departments, creators and craftspeople involved in the different stages of production and post-production.
  • Ensures compliance with administrative and technical policies and procedures related to production, in accordance with NFB and industry standards, and keeps abreast of changes and new developments related to documentary film, animation and interactive, as applicable.
  • Ensures regular monitoring of contracts with co-producers during all stages of film production, based on co-production and distribution agreements.
  • Identifies available freelancers and helps recruit members of production teams, with the approval of the producer.
  • Participates on advisory committees based on own expertise.
  • Monitors productions during all stages and produces status reports, including reviews and records of the lessons learned.
  • Performs all production tasks delegated by the producer.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in an appropriate field, such as film production or any other related discipline;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in similar production role; or an equivalent combination of training and experience;
  • Good knowledge of artistic, financial, editorial, technical and administrative activities related to production;
  • Extensive knowledge of post-production and collective agreements in the audiovisual field;
  • Considerable experience working with project management and collaboration tools;
  • Adept at creating harmonious professional relationships;
  • Professional recognition and strong credibility with filmmakers and production staff.
  • Bilingualism in both official languages (French and English), oral and written

  • Excellent attention to detail, methodical and structured, with the ability to understand technique and technical processes.
