Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook/Supervisor to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience in various kitchen environments, including fine dining, catering, and banquet services. As a Line Cook/Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while delivering high-quality dishes that meet our standards of excellence.

Duties

Prepare and cook menu items according to established Smitty's recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations. Assist in menu planning and inventory management to ensure proper stock levels. Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Monitor food safety practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations. Participate in catering events and banquets as needed. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dishes and improve existing recipes.

Skills

Proven experience in food production and preparation within a restaurant or catering environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively. Knowledge of inventory control and management practices. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations. Excellent cooking skills with experience in fine dining preferred. Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to facilitate teamwork within the kitchen. Experience in menu planning, shift management, and overall kitchen management is highly desirable. Background in hospitality, bartending, or serving can be beneficial.
