Cilantro & Chive Red Deer is a fast-paced, high-energy restaurant known for casual and pub style cuisine. We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook who is ready to take on a supervisory role and help lead our kitchen team. Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items to the highest quality standards.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring proper food handling and kitchen cleanliness.
Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and maintains a smooth workflow.
Monitor labor and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment.
Handle customer special requests and dietary restrictions when necessary.
Assist the kitchen manager in implementing new menu items and improving kitchen operations.
Ensure all food safety protocols are followed at all times.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in a kitchen, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
Strong cooking and culinary skills, with knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to lead a team, provide clear direction, and handle multiple tasks under pressure.
Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Weekend availability is a must.
Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.50-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
