Shearwater Resort is looking for a professional Line Cook to prepare food to the exact chefs specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line Cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks.The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals. Contract length is subject to change based on the demands of the season.Responsibilities and Experience:\xc2\xb7 Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies\xc2\xb7 Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)\xc2\xb7 Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff\xc2\xb7 Answer, report and follow executive or sous chefs instructions\xc2\xb7 Clean up station and take care of leftover food.\xc2\xb7 Stock inventory appropriately\xc2\xb7 Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion\xc2\xb7 Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards\xc2\xb7 Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customersQualifications and Skills:\xc2\xb7 Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook\xc2\xb7 Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures\xc2\xb7 Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks\xc2\xb7 Familiar with industrys best practices\xc2\xb7 Culinary school diploma or equivalent\xc2\xb7 Food Safe, Safe Check, Food Handler or equivalentWhat we offer:\xc2\xb7 Transportation costs\xc2\xb7 One complimentary staff meal while on shift\xc2\xb7 Housing available for individuals, families, and pets (pet deposit will apply)\xc2\xb7 Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience\xc2\xb7 Schedule: 8-10 hour shifts, 5-7 days/weekThis position is a seasonal full-time position from July - November 2023.
