Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly during service hours. A strong understanding of food handling and preparation techniques is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
• Assist in meal preparation by chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
• Follow all food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Skills
• Strong knowledge of food handling, food service, and food preparation techniques.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry.
• Previous experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen setting is preferred but not required.
