We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Line Cook/Dishwasher to join our team in a fast-paced cafe/wine bar. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in food preparation, ensuring that our food service operations run smoothly and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen. This position requires a passion for cooking and an understanding of food safety practices.
As a key member of the back-of-house team, you'll support the head chef in food preparation and plating during service, while also ensuring the kitchen and dish areas are kept clean and organized. You'll play an essential role in upholding our commitment to quality, consistency, and teamwork.
Duties
Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards.
Assist with food preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and cooking equipment.
Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality of food.
Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to the headchef.
Follow proper sanitation procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or food service setting.
Strong knowledge of food safety guidelines and best practices for handling food.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
Familiarity with various cooking techniques and equipment used in the kitchen.
Previous experience in the food industry is preferred.
