Responsibilities
Prepare and cook high-quality African meals according to the restaurant's menu and specifications.
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, ensuring that all food is fresh and properly stored.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service.
Monitor food stock levels and assist in inventory management.
Follow recipes and presentation specifications to deliver consistent dishes.
Help train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred, with a strong focus on culinary skills.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meal preparation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn new techniques.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
