What you will do:
Reporting to the Coordinator of Food Services in the Recreational Community Services Division, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Consistent, efficient and healthy food preparation to support concession and restaurant operations at the City of Waterloo's recreation facilities
Understands and ensures compliance with safe food handling procedures
Maintains a clean, sanitary and organized work area
Produce quality products by adhering to specifications and standards
Providing excellent customer service to the public
What you will bring:
Some secondary school education or equivalent
One (1) year of related experience in a food services environment
Safe food handling certification would be required
Demonstrated knowledge of safe operating and maintenance procedures for all kitchen equipment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with other members of the Food Services team and City staff, as well as the general public
Previous cash-handling skills and / or experience balancing revenues is an asset
A passion for promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe workplace and the ability to work respectfully and effectively in a team environment
Strong commitment to delivering quality customer service
Demonstrated commitment to Reconciliation, Equity, Accessibility, Diversity and Inclusion
Hours of work:
Up to 24 hours per week including morning, evening, weekend and holiday shifts. Work hours are subject to flexibility and change based on organizational needs.
Please note, hours of work may be outside of public transportation operation hours
What we will require:
A Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check satisfactory to the City
Must be at least 15 years of age
Proof of your current and valid certificate(s), licenses and/or educational qualification, if applicable
