Osteria Mattarello We are opening a Italian style restaurant and bar. Our goal is to bring authentic, yet innovative, Italian dishes and a vibrant dining experience to the suburbs of Toronto. This position is great for someone with the background in cooking and who is looking to gain experience in a new cuisine. Under the guidance and supervision of the head chef you\xe2\x80\x99ll be prepping and cooking in various different stations of the kitchen. As a cook of the restaurant some of your key duties and responsibilities under the guidance of the head chef/sous-chefs would include: - Doing prep work for any of the stations in the restaurant - Working the hot line/cold line. - Helping kitchen management by informing about any items running low or nearing expiry dates. - Following health & safety guidelines - Keeping accurate records in regards to food preparation - shelf life, temperatures, etc. - Setting up and breaking down your station. Experience and Skill-set Required: - Someone who is motivated, passionate and is looking to learn about Spanish cuisine - Extremely well organized and have great time management and planning skills. - Written & oral English skills - General cooking knowledge - seafood, meats, vegetables. Beneficial attributes - Knowledge of Italian cuisine. - Corporate restaurant/hotel background - Culinary degree Job Type: Full-time Salary: $20.00-$22.00 per hour Benefits:
