Position Overview
The Line Cook position at The Chickenburger is essential to ensuring high-quality food production while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen. The role involves preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes and quality standards while upholding cleanliness and food safety. The Line Cook works closely with the kitchen team to ensure consistency, speed, and accuracy, ultimately contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
Prepare and cook menu items on the grill, fryer, and steam table, following standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
Ensure proper cooking techniques and presentation of dishes before they leave the kitchen.
Maintain awareness of special requests from customers and accommodate dietary needs when possible.
Kitchen Operations
Monitor food quality, ensuring consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation.
Work efficiently in a high-pressure environment to meet customer demand.
Follow all food safety regulations, including proper storage, handling, and labeling of ingredients.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Keep workstations clean and organized throughout service.
Properly sanitize kitchen tools, equipment, and surfaces.
Follow all health and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses.
Assist with deep cleaning tasks as required.
Qualifications & Essential Skills
Technical Skills
Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant is preferred.
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
Understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene standards.
Soft Skills
Ability to organize workflow, lead the team, and communicate effectively.
Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask.
Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
