Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items. Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment. Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations. Monitor food quality during preparation and cooking to ensure it meets our standards. Help with inventory management by tracking stock levels and reporting shortages. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred. Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food handling best practices. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in food preparation. Strong understanding of food safety regulations within the food industry. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
