About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Line Cook specializing in Indian curries and North & South Indian dishes to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in traditional Indian cooking techniques and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of Indian curries (vegetarian and non-vegetarian), lentils, and gravies
Execute North and South Indian dishes such as biryanis, dosas, idlis, tandoori items, and rotis/parathas
Ensure consistent taste, portioning, and presentation of dishes
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in the kitchen
Assist in prepping ingredients, sauces, and marinades ahead of service
Coordinate with other kitchen staff and follow the Head Chef's instructions
Monitor food inventory and report shortages or spoilage
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a line cook in an Indian kitchen
Strong understanding of Indian spices, cooking styles, and regional flavors
Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
Team-oriented with strong communication skills
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred:
Experience working with both North and South Indian cuisine
Knowledge of tandoor operation is a plus
Culinary training or certification is an asset
