Reporting to the Senior Manager or Manager of the LINC Program, the LINC Program Instructor facilitates and delivers instruction to assigned clients in accordance with the PBLA Emerging Practice Guidelines, aligned with the Canadian Language Benchmarks and ESL for Adult Literacy Learners (ALL) (2015). The instructor develops engaging, real-world task-rich lessons within thematic modules, adapts the curriculum to meet client needs, and evaluates student progress to ensure the program's effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Familiarize and follow the objectives, outcomes, and curriculum guidelines of the LINC program.
Prepare and deliver CLB-aligned, student-centered lesson plans tailored to students' needs using the LINC curriculum.
Evaluate students' progress using Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA), providing feedback and exit benchmarks at the end of each semester.
Employ a thematic teaching approach focused on Canadian culture, settlement, and integration life skills.
Integrate digital skills into course delivery at levels appropriate for the class's CLB level(s).
Conduct ongoing needs assessments and evaluations to address clients' language requirements effectively.
Provide sufficient learning artifacts (8-10 per learning period) to support student evaluation.
Ensure students maintain proper portfolios for assessment purposes.
Record assessments and attendance in real-time on SchoolSense and monitor student progress.
Prepare and submit end-of-term documents, including results, progress reports, conference summaries, and LINC students' success stories.
Submit module plans and associated materials (e.g., Skill Building Activities, Skill Using Activities, and assessment tasks) upon request by the Program Manager.
Prepare lesson plans and materials for substitute instructors during planned absences.
Participate in professional development opportunities recommended by the LINC Program Senior Manager or Manager.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and learning environment.
Perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in English or Education, preferably supplemented by a TESL certificate, or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of two years of teaching experience in a related field is required. Completion of the CLB Bootcamp is mandatory, and PBLA training is considered an asset. Experience working in a non-profit organization is also an advantage.
