Your position as LINC Childminder - Supply will be to support the LINC program by providing quality childcare to children from 6 months to 9 years from diverse backgrounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure that the services are provided in a professional & efficient manner in accordance with the goals of the program and the requirements of National LINC Childminding Requirements
To provide opportunities for participant's children through the media of art, dramatic play, reading stories, music and creative child development
To maintain supplies and equipment including purchasing supplies for children
To manage a good housekeeping for childminding area
To maintain a safe and healthy environments
To design and implement specialized age and topic specific programs to promote the optimal early learning development of children
To ensure that the atmosphere is welcoming to parents, guardians and caregivers
To ensure that early learning activities are age appropriate, challenging and enjoyable for children
To maintain up-to-date records of children's developments, interests, strengths, needs, skills, etc.
To participate in professional development and attend staff meetings as required
Other duties as assigned
Reports to Executive Director or his/her designate.
QUALIFICATION/SKILLS
University Degree or College Diploma in Early Childhood Education
Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educator (CECE)
Minimum 2 years of experience working with children from 6 months to 9 years of age and their parents
Experience working within a setting with people from diverse backgrounds, situations and needs
Experience with families with children and their special needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Creative and able to plan and implement age appropriate activities
Ability and experience in Reading Circle/Story Time 1:1 or group
Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Internet and the knowledge of children educational software(s)
Fluent in English. Ability to speak second language is a strong asset
Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate, TB test and up-to-date immunization records
Police Record Check for Vulnerable Sector is required as part of hiring process
Must have own transportation and a valid driver's license for job related travel.
Immediate availability is an asset.
