We are seeking a motivated and skilled Lighting Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a term position from September to December. Key attributes for a potential hire are: high character, strong work ethic, attention to detail and an understanding of basic electrical and outdoor lighting principles.
Requirements:
- Availability full time Monday to Friday, September to early December, plus some Saturdays upon request.
- Comfortable working at heights on ladders up to 32' and/or lift equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather, including cold.
- Class 5 drivers license. Air Brake endorsement preferred.
Responsibilities
Install Gemstone Lights and other seasonal lighting to a high standard, consistently meeting or exceeding quality and time standards as set out by management.
Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to Gemstone Lights or other seasonal lights.
Follow all safety protocols when handling electrical equipment and working at heights.
Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, co-workers and clients.
Read, understand and follow work orders and installation plans.
(Preferred) Operate to a high degree of competence bucket trucks, lift equipment and other specialized equipment related to working at heights.
Qualifications
Positive and team-first attitude.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
Full range of body movement, able to carry and position ladders up to 32'.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by seasonally-varied installation schedules.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
(Preferred) Experienced and skilled in operating bucket trucks and mobile work platforms including articulating lifts up to 85', straight booms up to 85' and scissor lifts up to 45'.
