We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Light Duty Cleaner to join our team. This will be for numerous residential apartment buildings in Nanaimo. This position involves performing cleaning tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across various facilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to quality work, punctuality, and adhering to safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained workspace while developing valuable cleaning skills.

Responsibilities

Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal in designated areas Clean restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure hygiene standards are met Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely and effectively Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper as needed Follow established cleaning protocols and safety procedures at all times Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly Maintain a neat and organized work area during and after cleaning tasks

Requirements

Prior experience in cleaning or custodial work is preferred but not required; training will be provided Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting light loads, and walking for extended periods Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to follow instructions carefully and work independently or as part of a team Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward work responsibilities Must be able to pass background checks and adhere to safety guidelines
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 37.5 per week

Nanaimo, BC V9V 1A3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
