Job Description

Life Models work in the classroom and studios, collaborating with faculty to provide students with examples of the human form for lessons and assignments. Life Models take a variety of poses, nude and/or costumed, as needed to meet curriculum objectives.



What You'll Be Doing




Providing poses from gestures as short as 30 seconds to sustained poses that last several hours, over several sessions (with regular breaks); posing nude and/or clothed and occasionally work alongside other models; Meeting with faculty at the beginning of each class to discuss set-ups and pose needs; interpreting these instructions and gathering props, garments and linens as needed to meet the class objectives; Working collaboratively and responsively with instructors/faculty to accurately demonstrate the key concepts of the curriculum; Interacting with props including holding, lifting, pushing and pulling;
Managing times and types of poses to support the needs of the students in every session.

The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements:




2 years of experience as a life model is preferred; Experience working in an Artist studio or academic studio environment is preferred; Formal Education or equivalate work experience in the fields of Fine Arts, Dance, Athletics or Acting would be considered an asset.
