, the Life Enrichment Lead plays a vital role in transforming care homes into vibrant, person-centered communities.

Duties & Responsibilities



Design and implement recreational, social, educational, and spiritual activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and cultural backgrounds. Coordinate group and one-on-one programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being. Incorporate arts, music, fitness, games, and community engagement into daily schedules. Foster a sense of purpose, autonomy, and belonging among residents. Encourage participation and adapt activities to meet diverse needs, including those with dementia or physical limitations. Collaborate with families to understand residents' histories, preferences, and goals. Supervise and mentor recreation staff, volunteers, and students. Work closely with nursing, dietary, and therapy teams to ensure holistic care. Complete interRAI assessments, which evaluates social engagement. Use interRAI data to identify residents' needs and preferences, and to develop individualized care and activity plans. Ensure accurate, timely documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Align programs with provincial regulations (e.g., Ontario's FLTCA standards for recreational and social activities). Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and resident satisfaction.

Skills & Qualifications



Education

: Diploma in Recreation Therapy or a related field.

Technical Skills

: Familiarity with PointClickCare , and interRAI platforms.

Soft Skills

: Creativity, empathy, leadership, communication, and adaptability.

Experience:

Previous work in a long-term care home and dementia care practices is a plus!

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $25.69-$28.91 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

Lions Head, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
