Develop, calibrate, and validate forest inventory models using LiDAR and ground plot data. Build efficient workflows for LiDAR data processing, quality control, and output generation. Contribute to regional and provincial-scale inventory projects across Canada. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, client-ready results. Stay up to date with emerging tools and techniques in remote sensing and inventory modeling.

What You Bring:

A degree in Forestry, Geomatics, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, or related field. Graduate-level education (MSc or PhD) is an asset, particularly in forest modeling or remote sensing. Experience working with LiDAR in forested environments. Experience with individual tree segmentation techniques. Proficiency in tools such as LAStools, lidR, FUSION, PDAL, and scripting languages like Python or R. Familiarity with GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS). Attention to detail, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly. A collaborative approach and comfort working in a fast-moving, multi-project setting.

Nice to Have:

UAV LiDAR acquisition and processing experience. Knowledge of provincial forest inventory standards (e.g., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario BC). Exposure to AI or machine learning techniques for forest metric prediction. Understanding of how remote sensing supports forest management, planning, and decision-making.
