Tibbetts Home for Special Care is twenty-five bed Residential Care Facility licensed by the Nova Scotia Department of Seniors and Long Term Care.

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support our team of highly skilled CCAs.

The successful candidate will report directly to the facility Administrator and will act as her delegate when needed.

The successful candidate must possess exemplary time management skills, be self-motivated and able to work without supervision. Familiarity with management of a MAR, Kardex, Resident charts is preferred. Familiarity doing Medication Administration with a mobile med cart is an asset. Experience with injections and catheterization is also preferred. Experience as a team leader preferred.

Familiarity with Microsoft Word also an asset.

Compassion, patience and enthusiasm are musts for this position.

We are a fast-paced facility, with a broad spectrum of residents, each with their own unique needs. Experience with mental health is a definite asset.

This position is ideally suited to an experienced LPN who may be looking for something that requires a minimal commitment of eight (8) hours per week on site, but is willing to work on an "as needed" basis to a maximum of 32 hours per week.

Additional duties will consist of monitoring and auditing resident care plans, the MAR, Kardex, Treatments and Resident Charts.

Weekends and nights are not usually required, however there may be occasions when the LPN must fill in to maintain operational efficiency. Weekend and night premiums are $2.25/hr.

Tibbetts is a non-smoking facility.

Valid CPR/First Aid-C and a clean Criminal Record Check are mandatory.
