St. Jude's Care Home is looking for casual LPNs that have LTC experience. Ideally the nurse should know PointClickCare and have EMAR experience. The nurse needs to be available for all shifts and show strong leadership qualities. Knowledge of the Eden Alternative Philosophy and the ability to see our elders as people first would be highly appreciated. We are a small but proud facility; maintaining a high standard of care and nursing expertise is highly important to us. Additional training in wound care and/or end of life care also an asset. The applicant must be in good standing with CLPNBC. and be able to provide references.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:

As a member of the interdisciplinary health care team, the LPN is responsible for nursing care of residents, including developing and implementing Care and Treatment Plans. Provides guidance to Personal Care Aides in routine performance of duties, and communicates with residents, families, and physicians in the provision of resident care. Maintains care records according to facility policy. Initiate and maintain MDS/Inter RAI records.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of approved School of Nursing, with current CLPNBC registration. Is self-motivated and possesses strong verbal and written communication skills; has the ability to interact positively with others and is physically able to carry out duties. A Certificate in Gerontology is an asset.
