Your Opportunity:
The Licensed Practical Nurse functions as a member of the AHS - Overdose Prevention Site (OPS) Program and is an essential member of an inter-disciplinary, recovery orientated, health care treatment team. The Red Deer OPS provides harm reduction and recovery-oriented services in the City of Red Deer. These services are part of a wide range of evidence-based services that support prevention, harm reduction and recovery for people living with substance use challenges. The OPS is a facility that provides supervision to people who are actively consuming pre-obtained illicit substances. Within the OPS, people can use these substances in a monitored and hygienic environment, to reduce various harms related to substance use, including reversal of accidental opioid poisoning. The OPS also offers wrap-around services such as counselling and referrals to services such as housing and treatment (e.g., opioid agonist therapy, detox, income support).
