AHS is currently seeking an experienced Public Health Nurse to join the Health team. As a Public Health Nurse, your role includes general public health nursing responsibilities; this encompasses immunizations in well-child clinics, adult clinics, schools, influenza, and other mass immunization programs and provides surveillance, follow-up and preventative management to the Communicable Disease Control program. This position includes maternal and child health services which provide strength-based anticipatory guidance, home & clinic visits, prenatal & postnatal programs, breastfeeding support, screening & referrals, and advocacy. To be successful you will be self-motivated, organized with excellent time management skills, and a demonstrated history of comfort with decision-making, counselling, teaching, and strong communication skills both written and oral. You will have a proven ability to work independently, as well as positively, effectively, and cooperatively within an interdisciplinary team.
