Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre have an opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As a LPN at our rural hospital, you will work in a variety of areas: this includes a 10-bed ER, a 19-bed acute care unit, a 10-bed Goal (Goal-oriented active living) unit, and our busy labour and delivery area. As an LPN working at our facility, you will be a vital part of our collaborative healthcare team. Previous experience will be valuable in transitioning to the Rural Nurse role. However, you will be provided with mentorship and education opportunities to increase competence and confidence in the rural nurse role. You will be expected to provide safe and competent care to our patients in a collaborative, family-centred care approach. As a member of our team, you will be flexible in what area of the hospital you work in, as priorities will change rapidly between each unit. Ponoka, which means Elk in Blackfoot, serves a large First Nations community. Our town is located along Highway 2 in the Battle River Valley, within an hour's drive to major cities.
