Your Opportunity:Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants with recent nursing experience in a tertiary care facility Emergency Department. Preference will also be given to those candidates who possess recent acute/critical care experience in the last two years. Current Basic Life Support (BLS - Heart and Stroke AED Level C REQUIRED) - Healthcare Provider Registration. 2 years applicable med/surg experience may be considered. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment. Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 1 year emergency nursing experience. Demonstrated excellent assessment, organizational and patient care skills required. Ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Must be able to identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficits occur.
