Medicine Hat Recovery Centre offers a 6 bed Withdrawal Management Program and a 12 bed Intensive Bed-Based Addiction Treatment Services for individuals experiencing substance use concerns or co-occurring substance use and mental health challenges. We are seeking an experienced, caring, strength-based, team-oriented, and responsible LPN to join our multidisciplinary team. Reporting to the Manager and Assistant Head Nurse, the successful candidate's primary responsibilities include pre-admission screening and client admissions. The LPN will also provide client care and make decisions regarding appropriate nursing interventions within the LPN scope of practice to meet the needs of the client population. This role provides direct, low-barrier, trauma-informed nursing assessments to individuals living with physical and mental health needs, substance use disorder(s), and/or barriers to care. The ideal candidate is an assertive, proactive professional with a strong foundation in mental health and addictions, capable of engaging respectfully with individuals in a wide range of challenging circumstances. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conducting physical, psychosocial, and substance use assessments and applying evidence-informed and best practices in crisis intervention, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting individuals with substance use and mental health concerns and who promotes client-centered, culturally sensitive care that values collaboration with clients, families, and significant others. Strong clinical skills, organizational skills, and communication skills (both verbal and written) with a diverse range of clients, their families, professionals, and community partners are a must.
