About the Opportunity





The Licensed Practical Nurse is a member of the health provider team and in keeping with the patients' plan ofcare provides direct nursing care to clients whose health care requirements and expected outcomes of care arepredictable. For patients and families whose health status is unpredictable, the LPN provides direct nursing carein collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and as delegated and (when required) supervised by, theRegistered Nurse. The RN is accountable for creating the plan of care and delegating selected nursing carefunctions to the LPN. The LPN is accountable for acceptance of delegated functions and for decisions andactions taken in the provision of nursing care.


About You





We would love to hear from you if you have the following:


Graduate from a School of Practical Nursing Licensed or eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) Current BCLS certification Minimum of 1-2 years recent acute medical nursing experience an asset Successful completion in Pharmacology course is required Successful completion in physical assessment course offered through Nova Scotia Community College isrequired Gerontological course is an asset Successful completion of IV Therapy Module within 4 months of commencing the position Strong affiliation with the elderly is required Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing work environments Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and prioritization skills An equivalent combination of education and training may be considered for this position Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
