Our Public Health team has a great opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team and be part of our culture and positive working environment. As the LPN, you will represent Public Health in delivering primary health services to individuals, families, groups and communities. The incumbent will effectively use the nursing process to deliver safe, ethical and patient/family centered health care, with attention to diversity and the social determinants of health. Focus is on improving access to immunization services; to identify and strategically overcome barriers to immunization; and to form partnerships with community agencies to immunize hard to reach populations. The successful candidate will demonstrate critical thinking skills, is self-motivated, respectful, possesses conflict management skills, is accountable, able to hold themselves to a high level of integrity, and is patient and community minded: someone who is passionate about making positive impacts on the communities they serve. The PHN provides practical care including the promotion of wellness, prevention of illness, and to maintain and restore health and social well-being. Where acuity/complexity of patient/client requires, or as directed, confer with other professionals accountable for clinical leadership. Other Duties as required. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. This position will be part of Primary Care Alberta effective November 18, 2024.
