This dynamic role involves working closely with vulnerable populations, supporting harm-reduction practices, and delivering trauma-informed care in non-traditional settings such as outreach sites, shelters, and homes. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver nursing care to clients in outreach and community settings, including OAT administration and follow-up
Support harm reduction strategies, including distribution of supplies and overdose prevention education
Perform clinical assessments and monitor clients for side effects or withdrawal symptoms
Collaborate with pharmacists, and other team members to support coordinated care
Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to confidentiality and health information protocols
Build trusting relationships with clients using a trauma-informed, non-judgmental approach
Support medication management, including blister packing and follow-ups under supervision
Qualifications:
Current registration in good standing with the
BCCNM (British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives)
Valid
LPN license
in British Columbia
Experience working in addiction medicine, outreach, or community health preferred
Familiarity with harm reduction principles and OAT protocols (e.g., methadone, Suboxone)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
Valid
Class 5 driver's license
and access to a reliable vehicle an asset
CPR and First Aid Certification required
