Job Description

Extendicare Viking is a 60 bed home, located in the beautiful rural setting of Viking Alberta. The LPN will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our residence, working in collaboration with a team that consists of Health Care Aids, Registered Nurses, Support Services Staff and a Leadership Team.

Reporting to: Director of Care

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Care, the LPN will:

Ensure resident care is provided within established nursing standards and principles, physicians' orders and administrative policies Use the Nursing Process of Assessment, Plan, Implement and Evaluate a resident health and develop individualized resident care plans Plans, directs, supervises and evaluates the work of the Health Care Aide Assists in orientating, mentoring and competency development of staff Demonstrates leadership skills Graduate of Licensed Practical Nurse Program Registered in good standing with CLPNA Caring, compassionate, dependable, ethical and mature Strong communication skills Ability to manage stressful situations. Critical thinking skills Good time management skills to work in fast paced environment. Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Current CPR and First Aide Experience with MDS-RAI assessments
