Licensed Practical Nurse - Long Term Care| Casual Agency Contract | Victoria, BC


$47.50/hour


1 Year Experience LTC Mandatory


8-12 HR Casual Pick- Up Shifts

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:


1 YEARS MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Licensed Practical Nursing License in good standing with the Provincial College of Nurses Current BCLS
SKILLS & ABILITY:


Patient care Head to toe assessment Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Patient/family education and instruction
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


Plans and manages patient care according to each patient's needs. Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition. Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration. Provides routine care for patients. Observes patients' health. Reviews medical charts. Accompanies patients to their rooms. Assists physicians and registered nurses. Communicates with patients and their families. Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler. Prepares specimens for lab courier. Administers medications. Provides wound care. Prepares and administers injections and/or enemas. Assists with patient comfort. Monitor catheters.



SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Responsible for maintaining care standards Perform diagnostic tests Communicate with doctors and residents to keep everyone updated on test results and treatment recommendations Monitoring resident care
