Your Opportunity:The LPN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for medical and surgical patients. The LPN will practice according to the policy and procedures set out by AHS. The LPN will maintain competent practice and provides care according to CLPNA regulations. The LPN will work within the identified scope of practice of the Unit of hire, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:1-2 years acute care experience required. IV therapy certification required. Must be prepared to work full scope of practice. Demonstrates good organizational skills and a commitment to collaborative teamwork. Excellent communication skills required. The incumbent must be able to work in a physically challenging environment; constant walking, lifting and bending necessary. Preferred Qualifications:Recent surgical experience preferred.
